BC Spirit Soap is hand-milled in
Nelson,
BC from olive oil, glacier water, pure essential oils, beeswax
and lye. The glacier water is charged with love and gratitude.
While the soap is being made the soapmaker listens to songs of
peace and love and mentally infuses the soap mix with prayers
of healing for all. The soap then cures for five weeks. Next it
gets wrapped in a label. Fifteen per cent of sales are given to
the Universal
Compassion Movement founded
by Geshe Lama Thupten Phelgye. UCM is endorsed by H.H. the Dalai
Lama. I hope you enjoy the soap as much as I enjoy making it!
Love and peace to all sentient beings. Linda, the Soapmaker.
Geshe Lama Thupten Phelgye
has this to say about UCM:
The Universal Compassion
Movement is a way to bring people together to engage in compassionate
practice on behalf of unfortunate sentient beings – animals
-- who cannot speak of their wishes and their rights to live
in peace. Our focus is to ease the suffering of helpless animals
who are slaughtered for meat, ritual sacrifice, the cruel sport
of hunting, abuse in farms and industries and wherever they
may suffer. I took on this work after seeing the heartbreak
in slaughterhouses. Animals cannot speak for themselves as we
can, so it is one of my passions.
